VENTILATION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

The importance of an effective maintenance program cannot be overlooked because it plays such an important role in the effectiveness of the supply air & extraction ventilation system.

For years, scheduled maintenance has been treated as a boring and quite often overlooked task. Without maintenance, minor issues go unnoticed and can grow into catastrophic or complete system failure at the very moment the system is needed most.

M.A.C.S offer a comprehensive service and maintenance package to ensure key components, such as AHU, fans and waste removal mechanisms, are inspected regularly; ensuring your system enjoys maximum up-time.

Ventilation System Inspection

The inspection of air handling units (supply & extract) and associated distribution ductwork is important to assess condition, compliance, hygienic status and system cleanliness. Each section of plant from fresh air inlet, frost coil, pre-filters, heater and chiller section, humidifiers and secondary filters through the distribution ducting to the terminal devices is surveyed.

M.A.C.S can supply filters, spares and other replacement parts for almost all supply/extraction systems.

Our highly skilled engineers have over 20 years experience in supply air and extraction ventilation inspections in retail industrial, commercial, public and residential sectors.

  • Remove debris, grease, oils, slimes and microbiological contaminants that can cause persistent and foul odours.
  • Restore air flow efficiency by removing dirt, debris, grease and other contaminants from ducts that can build-up restrict air flow velocities.
  • Clean ductwork and air handling systems to restore operating efficiencies for long term cost and energy savings.
  • All works carried out by experienced air hygiene specialists in accordance with current BESA, BSRIA, DoH and Health & Safety regulations and good practice guidelines.

Kitchen Extract System Cleaning and Fire Risk Control.

If regular cleaning, in accordance with the BESA specification, TR19® Grease, is not undertaken, fats, oily, greasy (FOG) deposits and fibrous particles can accumulate in kitchen extract systems, reducing air flow and can quickly become a fire risk and can be a major cause of the ignition and / or spread of fire to other parts of the building.

Failure to ensure regular cleaning of the kitchen grease extract systems can invalidate Buildings Insurance cover. We are aware of many cases where insurers have refused to pay out on millions of pounds worth of claims following fires where the insured has not complied with the conditions of their buildings insurance policies regarding regular cleaning of the grease extract systems.

M.A.C.S ensure that all commercial kitchens are compliant with industry regulations. With the right cleaning procedures in place, we can help you maximise the efficiency of your kitchen extractor fan and air ducts.
